I have two Weather Resistance Master Locks on the back drop down door on my cargo trailer. Thieves decided the 1st of this year 2025 that they needed to gain entry to my trailer. I was impressed that the two Master Locks never failed and put up a really good fight even after being attacked with crow-bars; the hasp bracket broke instead. I'm positive that I will have two brand new Weather Resistance Master Locks securing my trailer again.

Of most of the products made in America, your locks are the best and perform very well. I live in North Carolina where the power goes out often, so I bought a generator and installed it in a small shed located next to my fence. I put a hole in the shed and used a chain and 2 of your Master Locks to secure it to the fence post. They still work perfectly through rain, snow and brutal heat. One of the best products made in America.

I use the 141D, 3KA, and 1KALJ on my trail cameras. This summer bears and a porcupine chewed the locks (covered in camo tape) but they couldn't break through.Thanks for great products.

I received a Master Lock on July 13, 1966, at Parris Island Marine Corp Recruit Depot. The Drill Instructor told us we better never lose our lock or any of his Marine Corp property. I guess I took him seriously as I am still using this same lock on a daily basis at the gym. I hope to be using this lock for many more years. Thank you for making a fine durable lock.

I purchased the 265EC door security bar last year. July 8 was Hurricane Beryl. Winds were stronger than a Cat 1. When I woke to puddles of water, I immediately looked up thinking the roof was leaking. But, the water had come through under the French doors or between the doors. Without your product, I believe the wind force would have pushed the doors open and flooded my home. Thank you for such an amazing product. My son laughed when I bought it. He has since changed his opinion.

The shed in my back yard at our vacation house got swept away in a flash flood. It was fully loaded with items needed for such a location. We found pieces of it up to 1 mile away, but found the front of the shed a quarter mile down stream. The shed was annihilated, but the lock never opened. Fantastic!!! Why anyone would purchase another brand is beyond me.

Master Locks last very well. I received my Master Lock combination lock in 1973 when our high school gave them to us for our lockers. I managed to keep it through multiple relocations and I'm still using it in 2023 - 50 YEARS LATER - for the locker at the gym. Still works good as new! Compliments to Master Lock for making reliable and useful products!

I'm very impressed. Someone tried to break into my storage and only managed to beat up the lock and severely damage the door locking slide on building. This lock still works perfect. Extremely impressed.

I am sharing this success story because I am very impressed that some very determined thieves were not able to defeat my Master Lock 8mm cable lock. They worked very hard at this lock until they gave up. I went straight out and purchased the same replacement lock.

In early September 1967, I was issued a Master Lock dial combination lock by the U.S. Marine Corps. This was when I was 18 at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC. It is now July 2023, I am now age 73; I served 6 years in the Marines. I just wanted to let you know that I STILL have that lock, it STILL works (although a bit sloppy now) and I STILL know the combination! It just doesn't look as nice, and its action is a bit looser than it used to be. Great product!

My daughter just let me know that the lock I purchased for her to use on her gym locker (23 years ago) and has used since - just stopped working. Can’t beat that durability! Guess what she replaced it with?

When I turned 15, I spent summer in New York, where everything was overwhelming and full of novelty. Hundreds of Master Locks were issued to all students for our lockers in our dorms in Hamilton NZ, it was 1973 when I received my first lock at CCNZ… This lock has now graduated to the garden shed in Melbourne, Australia, and still works perfect in 2023. We operate a Food Pantry in the Englewood community. We have had incidences of burglary and obvious tampering with our possessions. We store some Food Pantry items within our outdoor POD. I am so excited to use the Master Lock on our POD, as I'm convinced it will be a deterrent to anyone attempting to break into it. I am also going to use the Master Locks on our back fence as well as on our indoor kitchen cabinets. I feel much more secure knowing our possessions are fervently protected.

This lock is amazing. This happened a day ago to my storage unit. The thieves couldn’t cut the lock off, but they tried!! They apparently lost interest and decided to go for option B. They got in but not without having to work for it.

A vehicle tried to crash through our chain link gate at my workplace in the middle of the night. The Master Lock padlock wouldn't allow it!

When I was 11 years old I bought a used Schwinn Corvette from a friend of my older brother. One of the first things I did was buy a Master Lock bicycle combination lock, since I rode my bike to school. The bike is long gone, but the Master Lock is still at work… only now securing my Honda mower and various other yard equipment.

My truck was broken into recently and though there was nothing of real value left inside, the intruders found the SentrySafe pistol gun safe inside my truck's center console. I’ve owned the 3100 SentrySafe since I was 9 or 10 years old. We recently had a house fire where we lost everything. Two story home burned all the way to the basement. Long, long ago, I believe the year was 1968, I was entering junior high school. I needed two locks. One for my coat and book locker. The other for my gym locker. I am super pleased to say that there was a recent attempt to break into storage units in my neighborhood, and my Master Lock held up its end of the bargain. There were 2 units that had their locks cut and property removed because they had lesser quality locks. My unit and another unit both had Master Locks, and the locks suffered damage, but didn't cut open and kept my property secure. I am 100% satisfied with the quality of this lock, and went and bought replacement for continued protection.

I am a school teacher so I try to invest my money wisely. The morning after Hurricane Ian blew through, I was not surprised to see my shed was a total loss. I was issued this Master Lock combination lock on the first day of boot camp in the Marine Corps in August of 1983... After 8 years in the Corps, I joined the Stockton Police Department in California... I retired after 24 years of service. I used this lock every day, I still have it, and it has traveled all around the world and is now with me in Florida. Awesome lock.

This lock was purchased in 1983 for my gym locker in 6th grade. This story starts in 1985 when I became a police officer for the city of Hoboken, NJ. The city gave me 3 things to start the job, a Master Lock, a badge, and a nightstick. Over the years as I worked, I had to replace my nightstick 3 times, my badge once, and never my Master Lock. This lock is a blessing because the combination was from an old address I lived at in Hoboken. When I retired, they wanted the lock back, but due to sentimental value I said no. Well, I did retire with the lock.

I have owned a Master Lock since I was 10 years old and my parents gave me new lock to go with my new bike. That was (I believe) just 5 months shy of being 50 years ago. My lock finally died at the gym today and it had to be cut off. However, when you have a product that lasts for 50 years, I think it's worth an email. Thank you for making products that last. Before the Pandemic struck, the batteries on my safe stopped working. I was unable to access the safe. I called Master Lock and received fast and dependable service. They airmailed me keys and provided excellent real time advice on installing fresh batteries. I have become a Master Lock man all the way. A totally positive experience from start to finish.

I have never had such great customer service. Will Altizer (Customer Solutions Representative) worked with me to replace a broken electronic keypad on my 16 year old SentrySafe. Will even called me on two occasions to work through the problem. Once we figured out the issue, he quickly had the parts couriered to me. I think Will could write the book on how customer service should be provided. I never write reviews however I have to give credit to where credit is deserved. Well done SentrySafe.

Still in daily use for over 50 years

My family and I recently finished an out-of-state move. Were are in a rental house while we build our new home. We have a lot of our stuff in storage. One of our storage facilities experienced a large volume of burglaries over the weekend. The bad guys attempted to enter our unit. They destroyed our lock bad enough I had to cut it off, but they couldn't cut it with bolt cutters. Our Discus Padlock with Shrouded Shackle saved us from the theft. Thank you, Master Lock!

I started to work around 41 years ago at the job I just retired from and I don’t remember the date but soon after I was hired in, I purchased one of your combination locks for my locker at work. It went thru several locker room rebuilds and moves at work but till the day I retired it was on my locker. I never had a single problem with it except for the white paint on the numbers being wore dim. In a world of throw away products your locks were built to last. TY for a fine product.

An attempt was made to drive off with Gods Ministry 2020's Food Cooking Rig that we use for our Street Ministry to feed the homeless in various areas of Southeast Texas. Due to the strength of the Master Lock padlocks attached to a chain ran from a tree to the trailer, the trailer wasn't moved. This Cooking Rig is a Life Essential Tool used to help the homeless and those in need. Valued at over $4000 from donations from various organizations, communities, over various states, it couldn't have been replaced.

We recently had a vehicle drive thru/under our iron double gate. We have two 25' gates that are locked together with a Master Lock. The vehicle crashed thru the gates at a high rate of speed. Both gates are totally destroyed, the 2 hasps that are attached to the gate were bent and almost ripped off. The Master Lock joining the 2 hasps was still locked and undamaged. The car was totaled, the gates are a total loss. When the gates are replaced, I will reuse the same lock to unsure the security of our lot.

I got the standard chrome black and white Combination Dial Padlock for my birthday when I was 6 or 7 years old. I used it all the time to lock up bike for years. Then I used it for various reasons throughout high school, then at college when going to the gym. Now, 40 years later, I live in Italy and use it all the time at the gym. It works flawlessly (except sometimes now I have to try 2 or 3 times to open it because my vision is diminished). If I ever need another lock, it will be a Master Lock.

In 1986, I bought a Master Lock for my freshman chemistry lab locker while attending University of Texas at Austin. The back of the lock has “UT CHEM” etched on it. Fast forward to 2011. I lent the lock to my 7th grade son for his school locker which he used until he graduated high school in 2017. Since then, my daughter has been using the lock. This upcoming year (2019-2020) is her senior year and today she gets to claim her locker. My 33 year old lock is back at work one final year.

The other day I locked my keys in my house with no way to get back in. It's August in North Florida, and it was sweltering hot and I'm fully dressed in jeans and heels. I called a friend and she came over with her bolt cutters. Who would have thought they wouldn't cut the Master Lock. 4 hours later, I'm finally peeling off my soaked clothing. Well, 4 hours, a grinder, a hammer, a pry bar and a pry bar made into a chisel. This is the toughest lock I've ever seen.

I will always choose Master Lock and here is why. As I went for my daily swim at the gym, I stored my personal items in the locker room. After an hour or so I returned to find that someone had been attempting to cut the lock off my locker. For just a few dollars (I would have paid double after this) my personal items were protected. How much would it have cost me in time and money if my phone, sunglasses and keys were stolen? Thanks to Master Lock, I don't have to answer that question.

As a pastor of a large Catholic church in the Bay Area, we recently decided to change our aging padlocks for the storage sheds in the rear of the property and we went with a Master Lock 230 padlock. It had all the right qualities of a lock we needed. About a month after the change, one of the sheds was hit with an attempted break in. They beat that lock pretty good and attempted to cut the shackle. The lock held tight! Thanks for a great product and a great investment.

I purchased a Master Lock combination lock in 1958 for a junior high school gym class. Over 60 years, I have used it in school settings, for my Army foot locker (which I still have!) and, more recently, for locker room use when I swim laps. There are not that many things (including me!) that have stood up so well to 60 years of continuous usage. You should be proud of making such a quality product. 

Just wanted to let you know that your locks are fire proof. My land was burned by the Spring fire in southern Colorado this last summer. Everything burned except for the Master Lock on our gate. Tried it with the key and it still worked. Amazing!

I had a 15+ year old SentrySafe about 2' square that turned out to be a godsend. My home burned in the Camp Fire that decimated the town of Paradise and surrounding areas in November 2018. What was left was just ash and appliance shells. I found my safe where I expected it to be and had it cut open. Thank you for saving my wife's purse at the gym. When she came back from the sauna on June 28 to the locker area, two women were standing there with their things spread over the bench. When Master Lock sells you a lifetime warranty, they mean it. I had a combination lock that was close to, if not actually, 40 years old. The paint on the dial was nearly nonexistent, and said dial no longer turned freely. Master Lock replaced it! Any of my future lock needs will be met by Master Lock!

I have had the Master Lock Adjustable Door Security Bar for four years now since I moved down to FL. Being a single female living alone it truly saved my life from an attacker. I was in my living room with my lights on watching TV at about 8:30 PM when someone tried to kick my front door open. It was one of the most terrifying experiences not knowing who was out there trying to hurt me. If it wasn't for the door bar, they would have gotten in. I use it faithfully every night, a life saver.

I have had a Master Lock combination lock on my shed door for the last 16 years. The weather in this area ranges between zero in the winter and mid to high 80s in the summer. The lock has been exposed to the southern sky and the varying temperatures and works just as well today as it did 16 years ago. I bought my combination lock as a freshman in high school, 1967. Today it’s on my backyard gate still working great! It’s now January 2018. No one believes me that it’s been with me all of these years! It started in Chicago, moved to Philadelphia and now Orange County, California, since 1986.

I was issued a basic dial combo lock by USCG ca.1981. I kept it and used it for years. It has locked everything I own. I could open it with my eyes closed if set to zero. After 30 years, I had it locking a boat to a tree. It was a small tree, and the idiots trying to steal it didnt have enough sense to cut the 3 inch tree down, but bashed the lock with my axe instead. It held, as expected and I sold the boat for a tidy profit. Ironically I should miss the boat, but I miss my lock.

After 20 years of relying on my Master Locks, one day I realized I had taken these locks for granted. I use them on my sheds outside in all kinds of weather. They were purchased at a local hardware store and look brand new to this day. They are combination padlocks with no signs of rust or other problems. All I have done is lubricate them every so often. I just want you to know that I appreciate your mighty fine American product.

Customer service has been the best! When our community garden (with space for 125-150 families to grow fresh local vegetables) needed to be locked, a Master Lock was purchased. When I called customer service to ask about duplicating 125 to 150 keys for our family of gardeners, Marion immediately aided me in finding key blank information and where to get the job done. I wanted to thank you, a Master Lock cable and lock stopped a theft. They tried to steal $7,000 worth of bikes out of the bed of my truck, but they couldn't cut through the cable. The bikes were only in the bed for 2 hours and 45 mins when the attempted theft occurred.

I purchased a lock when I was 11 for my school gym locker. I used it all the way through high school. The lock sat in my drawer for a number of years. I used it a few times with my children and then back in the drawer again. I am 63 years old and am now using it for my grandson's bike with a lock loop. 52 years and it's still working. Can't expect more for your money! What a great lock.

In 1978 I received my first Master Lock combination lock from my junior high school to use on my first locker, I was 12. I used the lock through high school and into college. I thought someone should know that the same lock comes with me to the gym every day and keeps all my things safe just as it did 39 years ago. How often does something travel throughout your life with you? No less a lock! I just wanted to say thanks for producing something of such quality.

Driving out of my local landfill I noticed a familiar looking Master Lock in the road. I thought it might be mine because I had left it dangling on the back of my trailer. Sure enough it was mine, and it had evidently been run over numerous times by the large trucks which drive on that road. After a little oil the thing works like new.

Last December I woke to find someone had stolen my motorcycle cover right before a snow storm. This morning I found the replacement cover had been pulled up over my front tire leaving the locking cable exposed. I have 3 keyless entry Master Locks and one had failed. I emailed Master Lock about lifetime warranty and just like that a replacement lock is on its way. James the customer service representative was very friendly to work with. I will never buy anything other than Master Lock. Thanks!

In 1980 my father built an outdoor storage building and upon completion he attached a Master  Lock combo lock and in 2017 we still have the same lock on the storage building. We are in and out of the storage building daily and the lock has held up great however after all of the years and weather in the mountains of WV the numbers have been worn to the point that it is very hard to see. I contacted Master Lock and explained my story, I was sent a new lock with the same combo, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. 

Criminals failed at invading my home for one simple reason: a Master Lock. Security footage shows them attacking the lock with a crowbar/prybar. The thick metal gate bracket was folded but the lock withstood the attack and could be opened with the first turn of the key. Sadly, they tried another house where they held up the owners with a shotgun and escaped with phones and laptops - it would have been us and the only thing that stood between us and disaster, was the Master Lock.

I want to say how eternally grateful I am to your products! I just moved from Chicago to Denver and stayed over night in Omaha where someone unsuccessfully tried to cut your lock off my moving truck! My whole life was in that truck and luckily they failed. We were parked near the giant hotel/convention center entrance but the fact someone even tried was awful! I'm so thankful that I made my dad get a Master Lock with power!

When I was in the seventh grade in 1955 at Wayne Junior High School in Wayne, New Jersey, I purchased one of your locks. I would like you to know after 2 jr highs, 3 high schools, 2 colleges, numerous YMCAs and fitness centers in 3 states I am still using that same lock. 50 years ago I was 13 years old and entering high school. I needed to purchase a padlock for gym class. I purchased an American Lock combination padlock. It was made in Chicago, Illinois. Today I am 63 and still using that same lock. I have used it in many locations around the country and on all kinds of items. It has never failed. Can anyone name something as old and mechanical that looks and works as good as new? Never even needed lubrication! What a product!

I have been meaning to write you for some time now. 48 years ago I received a Master Lock for my 7th grade locker. I had never had my OWN lock before. Through the years I have used this lock off and on. Now in my senior years I have a job with the San Diego Sheriff and needed a lock for a locker assigned to me. Yes, I dug out my old trusty lock and have put it to use once again. Thank you for your years of use. 

I purchased a Master Lock combination lock when I got hired at John Deere 41 years ago. Every day I worked, I opened that lock a minimum of 3 times (some days a lot more). I opened it (1) when I arrived at work and changed into my work clothes, (2) at the end of my shift, and (3) after my shower when I changed back into my street clothes. By my estimation, I opened that lock 27,500 times and it still works great. Although the numbers on the dial seem to have gotten smaller over the years.

We had just moved into our home and secured out shed with your Master Lock. A few weeks later, a huge gust of wind came in and blew our shed about 300 feet in the air, bits and pieces of the remaining shed came to rest on our roof. The shed doors and your lock remained in tact in the middle of our street. Can't say enough about how well your lock performed...too bad I can't say the same about our shed. All is good. Getting a new shed but don't have to get a new lock! Thanks Master Lock!

As the proud owner of a fishing kayak, I am always reluctant to leave it unattended at the beach regardless of the beach's reputation. Last week while on Spring Break, I left it locked up using the Master Lock cable in front of my house. In the morning I realized that someone had spent a considerable amount of time trying to pry the lock open. Thankfully the lock held tight and I have my kayak. Wife will only let me buy one, so I will keep using Master Lock locks.

Recently thieves tried to steal our new cargo trailer filled with construction tools. Problem: a chain with a Master Lock threaded through one of the wheels. They drove for half a mile with the 1 ton weight of the trailer and contents dragging on top of the lock before they stopped. Then they tried to break the lock with a chisel: no go. So they unhitched and left. Not much left of the lock but it stopped the thieves ... AND IT STILL LOCKS AND UNLOCKS!!!! That lock saved us $5,000+!

There had been some break-ins in the neighborhood and my wife and I were concerned. So we called a local Master Lock provider Advanced Security Safe & Lock and they set us up with a Ball Style Knob Entry Door Lock with Single Cylinder Deadbolt, and we've been able to sleep soundly ever since.

I had not visited my storage container in several years. It is located in a sandy lot about a half mile off the main road across the street from Joshua Tree Park. Theft is common in the area. I had already mentally prepared to let go of all of my stuff before I arrived to check on it last Saturday morning. Sure enough, someone tried to drill the Master Lock I had installed. Luckily, their drilling efforts were in vain and the lock held tough. I was extremely happy to say the least.

In the mid '70's while I was in graduate school, I bought a Master Lock combination lock for my gym locker. This lock was used several times a week until my graduation. It then went with me through teaching jobs in Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Florida and Georgia. It was always used for my gym locker and occasionally saw duty on my personal tool box. After I retired, I continued to go to the gym for workouts. This lock has become so familiar to me that if I think about the combination, I just walk up to the locker and open the lock without thinking. Well, almost forty years later I think it is finally giving up the ghost. It will open OK, but it has to be forced to close. I guess it, like me, is getting tired. So I have to replace it. With what? Well, I guess since the first one lasted almost forty years, I may as well get another one. I don't know it I'll last another forty years, but I'll bet the lock will.

After a bicycle ride, I came back to my motorcycle to find the ignition cut out and my helmet and jacket gone from the side carry cases. However the motorcycle still remained as the would be thieves were unable to cut through the $20 Master Lock I purchased ages ago and used in the motorcycle's disc brake. So a multi-thousand dollar loss turned into a sub-2K insurance damage claim.

After over 40 years of service I will have to replace my No.5 Master Lock! I guess the pins are getting so worn I have to play with it for a few minute to get it open. My wife will miss the lion keys.

You think a Master Lock isn't strong? Some thieves tried to drill out a lock on a gangbox at work with my tools one night after work. The bit had broke off while they were drilling on it. So when we came to work there was a hole where the key goes! We worked on drilling the lock for two hours and it was still locked. We had to cut a hole in the top of the box and cut the lock off from the inside. What an ordeal that was. But one thing is for certain, my tools were still safe. I'm SOLD on MASTER LOCKS.

I'm writing to say "job well done" on your combination locks. When I entered Marine Corps boot camp in 1986, I was issued 2 locks, both with the same combo. I have unfortunately since misplaced one of them, but am pleased and impressed to report that the other one is still used on a daily basis, and works as well today as it did in boot camp. Thank you!

I have an old combination lock that has been used by numerous members of my family. According to the story my uncle told me, he passed it on to me when I entered Jr High School and was in need of a combination lock. My Mom used this lock while she was in High School and passed it on to him when he went into the Marine Corp. He had two tours on the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier and toured around the world numerous times. He was visiting in the late 70's when I was in need of a lock for school and told me the history of it. My Mom lost her battle with cancer 3 years ago. A few years before that I told her I was still using the lock. With a little coaxing on my part she was able to remember the combination and was surprised it had survived all these years. The lock now rests on my desk at home after many years of loyal service. I am currently using 4 Master Lock combination locks on various lockers at work and have a number of Master Lock keyed locks also. I have used your locks in a number of jobs over the years and will continue to do so. Thank you for making a product that delivers what it guarantees. That is rare in this day and age.

I have had my Master Lock since the 7th grade, 1955. I am now 69 years of age and have used the lock ever since in all kinds of weather and uses; it is now residing on one of my 3 buildings in my back yard along with 3 other Master Locks I use...I don't know if anyone has ever tried to open or break it but I know it would be a challenge for any criminal. It has stayed the course for sure. The main thing I've loved about the lock is that it and all my others have never failed to work. You all are "Masters of the lock"

In 1961 I bought a combination Master Lock to use in my 7th grade gym class. Next month I turn 65, and that Master Lock still goes with me to the gym. I've seen a lot of change during those 53 years, like our TV back then was a B&W the size of our oven, and now I can watch color movies on my phone which is not much larger than my Master Lock. The only thing that hasn't changed is my trust in Master Lock to keep my valuables safe.

I decided to go shopping on Black Friday this year (what a mistake!) and I had my kayak loaded up on my car from the day before when I was fishing. I recently purchased a Master Lock Python tree stand lock because I am able to thread it through the scupper holes on the kayak and wrap it around the cargo rack to secure my kayak. Boy was I glad I had it installed today! When I came out of the store the kayak was tilted off the cargo rack and none of the straps were connected. Someone had tried to unstrap and take my kayak, I guess they didn't notice the cable of the tree stand lock wrapped around the roof rack and through the kayak. I am glad I had the lock on my kayak, sad I had to see it used though.

I purchased my combination lock in 1995. I needed to secure the engine compartment of my 1972 VW. Since then I have used this lock to secure my gates at two different houses. This lock has endured rain, snow, freezing rain, extreme heat and cold. I think I have oiled the lock no more than ten times. Thanks so much for manufacturing such a great product.

On August 15, 1968, I joined the Air Force. I had basic training in San Antonio, TX. Our first day we had to go to the supply hut to get our staples. One of the items we had to purchase was a lock for our lockers. I chose a Master Lock. I went to numerous bases in four years. I had been in TX, Miss., HI, GA, Thailand and Vietnam. Everytime I went on leave, I had to lock my duffle bag. Almost every guy had lost his lock or it quit working. My lock is 45 yrs. old and still in use today. In all that time, I have bought 6 houses and the lock has been in use in every garage. I used it to lock my tool boxes or all my yard sheds. The only maintenance I have done to my lock is put a few drops of 3 and 1 oil in the slot to the guts of the lock. My baby looks like almost brand new. 

Recently we placed an M175 resettable combination padlock on one of several gates to a hunting lease. In less than one week, someone attempted to remove the lock and chain...by shooting the chain once and the lock three times! While the lock certainly took some punishment - including a hole into the body from what appears to be a 9mm - it held fast! While I had seen ads showing locks holding under this type of abuse, I was amazed to see it first hand. Great product!! I will be replacing this one with the same for sure.

I wanted to tell you about my Master Lock locker lock that I've had for 40 years. I got it when I started at UCLA in Sep 1973. It has UCLA stamped on the knob and was bought at the school to use on their lockers. In the last 40 years I used it during four years at UCLA, twenty-eight years in the Marine Corps, and eight years while I've been in industry. I imagine it's not too unusual to get 40 years of service out of your products, but I can't name other mechanical devices that I've had for 40 years that have never failed. That lock has seen service all over the world including on four Navy ships and in Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Bahrain, Norway, and other countries. I'm still using it today in North Carolina.

This lock is the best. The simple black lock (or any other Master Lock) simply will not fail you unless you are doing something absolutely ridiculous to try to make it fail. I actually wash my Master Lock in water and it still works fine. A little lubricant makes this lock work just like new. This is a company that clearly cares about it's customers, and it's the only company that I will ever buy my locks from.

Traveled 1,000 miles with my 2001 Dodge Viper RT/10. I absolutely would not trust leaving my car unattended without the security of a Master Lock Magnum! My Father was old school, born in 1909, and he always used Master Locks. Master Lock's slogan for their padlocks is TOUGH UNDER FIRE! Here is proof! These locks come from the railways and are used to lock up track side boxes. Copper thieves could not open the box, so in frustration tried to burn the padlocks open. Well, the results are fantastic, the Master Locks ARE tough under fire - these locks still operate after being torched!

I run a paintball field, and we recently got a shipping container to store equipment in. I was worried about the possibility of someone cutting the lock. So i purchased a Master Lock 40DPF since it had a short hasp that would making cutting difficult. Little did I know a month after getting the container the lock would be put to the test. I showed up at the field one evening to find several .308 shells laying around. When I checked the lock, it had been shot point blank. Almost all the internal components were gone, but the lock was still locked. It took me about 30 swings with a sledge hammer to finally remove it. That lock save me about $5,000 worth of equipment from being stolen. I will never trust another lock company but Master Lock.

I arrived at work Friday morning to see where a vehicle had demolished our front gate. The only thing holding our gate together was our Master Lock # 5.

The recent newspaper article prompted me to relate my experience. Before leaving for Vietnam in 1964, I was issued a Master Lock by the USMC. There was a major break in at my storage unit location...30 storage units were broken into when the locks on the units were cut with a bolt cutter. But my unit with my Master Lock held up and the robbers could not break my lock or get into my storage unit, although they did mess up the door and latch trying! I am working on a project converting ISO Shipping Containers into living space in a remote area outside of 29 Palms, CA. I have the containers secured with various models of your locks. A couple weeks ago some person(s) decided to break into my containers. Your brass combo lock was cut in one attempt & your warded padlock was opened by prying (those locks were being used for the wrong application anyway) BUT!! - your disc shaped Magnum Lock hung on incredibly well. Those dirtbags attempted to cut the lock with bolt cutters, beat it with a crowbar & shot it with a 357 magnum (shell casing left at the scene). As I write this, I have that lock sitting on my desk with part of the shipping container door still attached to it!!! It was so hard to open the lock that they cut the container open around it. I'm upset that I was burglarized, but smiling at the same time as I picture these fools beating on this lock till blue in the face only to have to start over with plan B. I would have paid to watch them in the middle of the California desert (115 degree heat) beating on that lock! Thanks for letting me share my story.

Back in 1975, when my mom went to Cajon High School, she used a Master No. 3 padlock for her locker. She used this padlock for three years, and on grad day, locked it to the fence behind the gym. Well what do you know, 33 years later I find myself at her old school, and her padlock is STILL there, battered and rusty, but still holding strong! My mom even kept the old key and decided to let me try it. 33 years of weather, vandals, custodians with bolt cutters and rust just had no effect on this lock, it popped right open! What's more, I continued to use her old padlock throughout my years at Cajon High and it NEVER let me down. I still have it now! Master Lock sure got it right with their laminated padlocks.

For school we needed a gym locker lock and I had the one where you reset the lock by moving the wheels on the red markers. At the end of the year my gym teacher said "If you don't take your locks home, we will cut them off and take what's inside the locker." Unfortunately for them, I had a Master Lock and they couldn't cut it off with bolt cutters! So they had to call me over to the school to remove the lock.

On Saturday March 13th my home was hit with a devastating storm. The winds just south of us were clocked at 75 mph which knocked down a HUGE pine tree in my back yard. Today I visited the Gold's Gym. I had been leaving my stuff in one of the lockers and secured it with a hardened Master Lock combination lock. When about to leave I noticed 2 bolt cutter marks where someone tried to cut the lock in half but without success. Apparently you weren't supposed to leave the lock on over night. Now I know and my lock is still as good as new. They couldn't cut thru it. Amazing lock. My hat's off to Master Lock.

I live in San Francisco where bike theft seems to be a popular sport. I am on my third bike now after the first two were stolen. I went from a cheap cable lock (which was broken off) to a no-name brand U-lock from Walmart (which was broken off) to a heavy duty Master Lock U-lock. Yesterday, I went into Safeway for only twenty minutes - to buy and eat a sandwich for lunch. When I came out, to my surprise, I went to unlock my bike and found my lock looking kind of strange. At first I thought, maybe this isn't my bike, a bit dumbfounded. Then I realized it was my bike and the lock was completely bent out of shape - a thief had tried to use a carjack to pop it off! Lucky for me - Master Lock won! The thief lost. The bike was not stolen and, although the lock had to be cutoff because it was damaged beyond use, it did its job - thwarting the theft of a $450 investment and my only form of transportation - my bicycle. I lost the key to my Master Lock padlock keeping my flagpole lowering mechanism locked. I decided that I would go down to my local hardware store and borrow their bolt cutters. I BROKE THEIR BOLT CUTTERS trying to cut the lock! Haha! Talk about one tough lock!

I was issued a long shackled Master Lock at the Coast Guard boot camp on Jan. 12, 1960 which was used for my seabag. I remained in the Coast Guard until Feb. 1980. The lock traveled all over the world with me and it is still being used on barn doors today.

My husband and I have used your brass combination locks for many years. Most recently, we had one on a metal shed that was located in our back yard. The shed was burglarized not only once but twice within one week! Although the burglars ultimately managed to enter the shed by using a crow bar to pry off the hasp, the lock fared in much better shape! I was very impressed at the inability of the burglars to pry, cut, or in any way break the lock! Fantastic product that we will recommend to anyone!

I recently bought a Master Lock Laminated Steel padlock due to the recent locker break ins at school, where some combination locks were broken with some kind of blunt object. I thought it would never happen to me but Thank God I had a Master Lock on my locker! They tried to smash it open with what looks like a hammer or some sort of other object. Four other lockers got broken into and stuff was stolen, but mine was the only lock that stood strong!

I purchased a Master Lock (combination) in November 1982. I have used it 5 days a week for my fitness center locker (opening and closing it thousands of times). Today it broke...sad day. As a distributor of hundreds of thousands of products, I have many security options to choose from. I'm also a mechanical engineer, so I have a certain appreciation for design, strength and quality. After reviewing the options available, I chose a Master Lock Pro Series #6121 to secure a storage building that I was renting. This choice was not an easy one to make, as the storage building was in a remote location, the lock would be exposed to the elements, and reliable security was paramount. Many manufacturers had fancy colors, claims of performance or high price tags. While not the least expensive option, I felt the model #6121 fit my needs, so I bought one. On a recent visit to the storage building, I was surprised to find out that someone had attempted to break into the building by cutting the lock. I bought my first Master Lock combination in 1980 for high school. For some reason the number stuck in my head and I never forgot it. It went to college next and then sat for years packed away. I have 2 Master Locks. One for my band locker that keeps people from stealing my trumpet and one for my regular locker. I have caught 2 people trying to break open into my regular locker and 3 people at my band locker. They all are notorious for breaking into other people's lockers but they just could not break into mine. I guess they're called "Master Locks" for a reason.

Your Master Lock door security bar is the ONLY thing that stopped a criminal from entering my hotel room through a sliding glass door in Lucea, Jamaica, on 11/16/08. I am wife and mother of two young children who was alone when I was startled awake by a loud "pop." Over 35 years ago, I was attending high school and obtained a lock for my gym locker - a simple Master Lock Combination Lock. I used the lock for years. As a three-sport athlete, it was used for football, wrestling and baseball. After graduation, I took it with me to college. The lock was exposed during walking in all types of weather and it worked. Amazingly, in 1992 I required a lock to secure a gym bag, and since then have used that lock for the same purpose - thus the elements have not destroyed the lock's intended use. I am amazed that for more than 35 years the lock has never failed me. You should truly be proud of the fact that a product intended for a specific purpose far exceeded that purpose and is still functioning.

I wish to say thanks for saving my ATV from being stolen from a 8ft x 20ft cargo container stored at my hunt club. The lock was shot but it held so the container couldn't be opened. 

Three years ago I purchased a landscaping trailer for my business. I knew in advance that these trailers were high theft in the Detroit area. I purchased a hitch lock (not a Master Lock product) as recommended by the trailer manufacturer, yet I was still unsure of the safety of my trailer in public storage. One day after my purchase I was looking at some Master Locks in a store (Pythons in particular) and decided to purchase two of them. One evening a partner of mine called me late at night to tell me that there was a problem with my trailer and to come down to look. Once there, it was obvious that some dirtbag had defeated the hitch lock (not a Master Lock product) on the trailer. However, the Pythons were able to withstand the punishment and thereby prevented the theft of my trailer! Thank you Master Lock for such a reliable product.

I have Master Lock (model 175) padlocks on all the gates and equipment sheds on my farm. I found that someone had cut a chain gate and tried to break in to the equipment shed. It looks like they tried to pry, cut,and hammer the Master Lock off the door but where unsuccessful. The shackle bent out of shape but did not open. They finally gave up.

TOUGH UNDER FIRE, I have to say this Lock Co. is the best in the World. I use Master Locks for my every need. Just recently someone had tried to break into my work shed and they unsuccessfully used bolt cutters to cut the Master Lock. I am glad I had a Master Trailer Coupler Lock on my 16 foot trailer. It appears that some miscreant repeatedly tried to compromise the lock with a screwdriver and hammer. The lock held and the trailer is safe. The lock is now difficult to unlock and will need to be replaced.

Someone tried to break in my locker while I was at a gym today. But the thief could not break my Master Lock combination padlock. Even though the padlock had been damaged heavily, it saved my stuff, including my wallet and keys, from the bad guy. I thank Master Lock for making such a tough padlock!

In 1960 I started high school, and needed a lock for my school locker. I bought a Master Lock combination lock. I still use the lock today for my YMCA locker, and it works like it was brand new. Thanks for 48 years of not having to learn a new combination.

We had a warded Tough Under Fire steel laminated padlock (No. 22) that we've used up at our camp. Over the years it has gotten burnt, rusted, and frozen but it held up great and still works fine.

My family rides ATV's. We have three of them. We were recently on a 3 day out of state trip with our machines and had them secured to the trailer with chains, cables, and Master Locks. In 1980, I lived in Paris, France on Boulevard de Maleherbes, in the 8th Arrondissement... Across the street is the entrance to a park with a huge iron gate entrance (Parc Monceau). I used a long combo lock to attach my old BMW motorcycle. Someone had unsuccessfully tried to steal my bike and made the lock inoperable. When I moved elsewhere the same year, I left the lock attached to the park entrance gate. The gate has been repainted several times since. The lock is still there... 27 years later. I consider this lock as a family heirloom. Each time I visit Paris with my family, we make it a point to pay respects to our lock!

I just wanted to let you know I've got a Master Lock combination lock that I purchased when I started high school for my gym locker and it's been in constant service ever since. That probably doesn't sound like a big deal until you consider I graduated in 1963 and the last 34 years this lock has been exposed to the elements here in Oregon on my backyard storage shed - and is now back on my gym locker at Gold's in Springfield. Pretty impressive product if you ask me. I wish everything I've aquired over the years was as reliable. Some things are close, I've been married to the same person now for 35 years.

Lost in the woods of Minnesota for 17 years, the lock had endured snow, rain, heat of summer. Still, a little oil and it works smooth as can be. I couldn't believe it, yet it has gone on to an "new life" keeping our bikes secure. What a lock.

I got to work the other morning and my boss was not there. He had the keys. He called me and told me to drill the lock. I now have a #5 Master Lock with a 3/4" hole in it - it never did come unlocked! I drilled all the way through the lock and into the hook on the job box (like a knack box watchman III system). That was Tuesday. This is Saturday. My wrist still hurts from running that drill. Oh yeah it took three hours to get into the job box!

I purchased a Master Lock Door Bar (model 265) approximately 10 years ago. Since I travel a lot, I use it extensively for home security. On May 2, 2007, at approximately 7:10pm, a car lost control and collided with the corner of my front porch. This is an enclosed front porch that is part of the original structure (built around 1920). The impact pushed the wall and door frame across the front of the door, breaking the outside knob and causing quite a bit of damage. Your product was in place for security at the time of the impact. While looking at the damage, I noticed that the Door Bar was still in place, holding the front door closed. As a result of impact damage, even though the front door was pushed inward, the bar held its ground, caving in a portion of the porch floor. The bar is undamaged and still in use!!!! I just read a Master Lock story about a man who lost his Master Lock dial lock for 52 years, remembered the combination and apparently opened it. My story is a little different. When I was 12 years old, I traded something with a friend of mine for his Master Lock. This lock was never lost, but was used by myself and my brothers for several years. After we all grew up and left home, I left the lock at our mother's home for the next 30 years. It just lay there in a kitchen drawer through hurricanes, remodelings and who knows what else with about 20 grandchildren who visited her throughout the years. After her death, I took it home and kept it in a drawer for the next 15 years to the present time. I never forgot the combination and neither have my brothers. When I asked them if they knew it, they just reeled off the numbers as though it was only yesterday when they had last used it. Today this lock works as smoothly as it did the day I swapped for it 53 years ago. My plans are to pass it on to my children whom I suspect will not want to use it, but rather keep it not only as something with fond family memories, but something that gives testimony to a product that has endured for generations.

My wife and I recently moved. We packed all of our belongings into a moving truck, and I locked it with a Master Lock No.5 lock that I purchased about 10 years ago to lock a storage shed. During our trip we stopped for the night, and the next morning I found that someone had tried to break into the truck. They apparently tried to use bolt cutters to cut through the shackle. I don't know how long they spent working at it, but judging from the number of scratches on the shackle they must have spent some considerable effort. As you can probably guess, the amount of progress they made was pathetic. They would have been better off trying to cut a hole in the side of the truck. We own a ranch near Missoula, MT, and have purchased your No. 176 Series Padlock (2 1/4" Shackle) Combination Lock with Key Override Control. Having well over 20 gates to control on the ranch as well as numerous buildings we thought the flexibility of combination codes to control access to areas for individuals, friends, ranch hands, hunters and builders as well as a Master Key Override for us would be perfect. Buying a quality Hardened Master Lock we thought was just a bonus for us. Little did I know that some of our locks would be "Tried Under Fire." One of our No. 176 locks received at least two rounds from a shotgun. We figure one round with Double 00 buck and another with bird shot. After two darn near point blank shots the lock is no longer usable via the combination or the key override. But your lock held tight!! The individual or group DID NOT GAIN ACCESS. I never thought that our locks would be put under such stress. On another one of our gates where we again have one of your locks in combination with a chain, an individual popped the gate latch and rammed our gate with his truck to gain access. I believe he was hoping that the lock would "pop open" under stress. No such luck, the lock held fast. The gate (a bull gate type) was bent up pretty good but it too survived. You can bet that you now have one loyal customer who will, for sure, always buy Master Locks.

I have a Master padlock that my Grandfather gave me. He told me a story about how during the Depression his father went out and bought this lock to stop a thief from stealing gas from his garage. He told me that he took the lock out of service in 2000 when his Mom passed away. If you ask me, a lock that still works after being used for about seventy years is one lock that is Tough Under Fire. I have the lock and an original key.

I thought that you might like to know I'm still enjoying the Master Lock combination lock that I purchased for my girlfriend in 1952 when our high school began providing lockers. I lost my lock, but that girlfriend became my wife (and her Master Lock came along...). Thank you for an excellent product. 

I have a Master Lock U-Lock Bicycle Lock and recently went out to my bike to go ride to work and I found a broken car jack next to the lock. The lock was bent but not broken. Thanks to Master Lock, I still have my bike. When I went to go unlock my bike, the lock still works but the 2,000 pound car jack is broken. Thanks Master Lock.

I would like to express my appreciation for the outstanding product you have with the No. 90 Handgun Trigger Lock. I recently investigated a theft of a handgun with your trigger lock installed. The suspects had the stolen handgun for 5 days and were unable to break the trigger lock after numerous attempts. The suspects were arrested on the same day that they were finally able to access the lock with the use of a power saw. Had they been able to open the lock prior to that day, I believe they may have used it in a crime. Your product did it's job and secured the stolen weapon. Great Job. Just wanted you to know that while operating in a convoy in downtown Baghdad my vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device blowing out my two rear tires. I pulled up to the next vehicle, jumped out to hook up our tow chain, and realized that our chain only had one hook. I should have known this, but in order to get myself and my soldiers out of the "kill zone" while being fired upon by insurgents, I used a Master Lock to secure my chain to the vehicle ahead of us. Your lock was so tough that it pulled a broken-up armored M1114 military vehicle 4 miles to the nearest base for repair. Thank you for manufacturing such a quality product.

Just thought I would share with you guys what a great job your lock does. We had a break in and installed new door with your lock and they broke in again but the lock held up.

I've been using a Master Lock combination padlock for 46 years. Other than chrome worn off the shaft, it works like new. Congratulations on a great product.

As the owner of a construction company and handyman company, I probably have 50-60 of the 5422D boxes scattered throughout the Austin Metropolitan area, and I recently had one stolen. The key box was cut and stolen, and they attempted to cut the box open, with a grinder of all things, and met with no success. I was contacted by the Travis County Sheriffs Office this morning that they had recovered the box, and the detective was able to open it and the keys were still secured inside.

My Father's home in Punta Gorda FL burnt completely to the ground 3/30/2022. His home along with 6 others lost everything!!! The only thing the firemen retrieved after 2 days of burning was my father's safe. I cut the safe open and found everything intact. The safe was on the second floor and was found under the rubble the following day. I cut the safe open, and as you can see his belongings were safe.

This particular Master Lock is very sentimental to me. It was purchased my Sophomore year in high school, since then it has been on several journeys. It went off to college with me in 1993 and when I decided to join the military it protected my belongings in my duffle bag at basic training, my 1st duty station at Ft Knox and even went overseas with me to Korea. As I transitioned to civilian life, this lock is still in use and soon will be going with me as I embark on a new job as a travel scrub nurse!

For 2 years I had a Master Lock cable and a covered weatherproof Magnum lock (I believe model no. M115) on the air compressor in the back of my service truck. I quit that job and had to remove my lock and cable but had lost the key. Even with my grinder it took a good minute to cut the lock. ALSO something I hadn't even thought about! Thanks to the octagon shaped shackle you have to cut both sides of the lock to free it! I also found my keys for the other 2 locks thankfully!

I was finally able to recover my second safe after a devastating house fire. Even though it was not rated for water, the contents came out relatively dry despite the flooding from putting the fire out and months of being buried in wet debris from the months of rain since the fire. As soon as I can afford, I will have a large water rated SentrySafe. Thanks for securing my irreplaceable items. I will never trust anyone but SentrySafe to protect my valuables. 

I have been using my lock since grade 7 in high school 51 years ago. Used it on all my work lockers and now used to lock my shipping container. Still doing great

Over the weekend, I went to the public hunting area which I hunt in to relocate one of my tree stands. Upon finding my tree stand which I lock to the tree with a Master Lock fifteen foot cable, the stand was still secure to the tree and the lock and cable had taken between six to ten point blank handgun rounds. I was happy to see how much abuse the cable had taken and still did its job! Thanks again Master Lock for holding up under fire literally.

Your lock saved my two bikes from being stolen last night. It looks like they melted the coating to get at the cable. I don't see any evidence of them trying to cut the cable. I am very happy that I could still open the lock or I would have had a hard time cutting the cable I think.

Over 23 cut marks were made attempting to sever the cable, all unsuccessful. The bicycles were saved from a committed theft effort during our vacation!

I live in Arizona and had my trail cams in my hunting area for about 6 weeks. Always use Master Locks to secure them. Unfortunately, it was an extremely hot and dry summer this past year. The perfect recipe for wildfires. I’ve been lucky in the past, but not this time. The wildfire blew right through my area. Looking at the news coverage… I knew my area was hit hard. Had to wait 4 months before they opened up the area for anyone. Found my cameras burnt on the ground!! Lock still worked!!

Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM we had a stolen vehicle try to break in through our gate by ramming it in reverse several times. The thieves also tried cutting/damaging the lock prior to the repeated ramming. We were very impressed with how well the lock on our gate held as we thought it would have been considered the weak point. This is an exceptional product. We feel more secure knowing that your product can withstand such an aggressive force.

Thank you for such a great product! It has been 3 months since I checked on my storage unit and when I finally got there I noticed my lock was moved. Upon further examination I realized that someone tried getting into my unit by cutting the lock. Obviously the Master Lock was too tough for the cutters. Obviously I had to switch out the lock for a different one. Hopefully this doesn't happen again because I was forced to buy a "Brinks" lock because no store has master lock for a storage unit.

I graduated from an all girls school in NY in 1993. I currently am a mother of two living in Florida. We have a storage unit and I’m using the same lock that I had in high school on our storage unit. It’s almost 30 years old and it works the same as the day I first used it. 

My preset combination Master Lock was given to me by my parents when I entered 9th grade in high school in 1976. I used that lock throughout all 4 years of high school and beyond. For the past 25 years, this same lock has been outdoors locking my shed door thru all four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall. My lock still works great, has never given me any problems and as you can see, it will outlast my shed door. I wish everything was made to last like my Master Lock has.
